Kate Moss for Liu Jo’s fall/winter 2011 collection
Fashion
In developing the collection’s campaign, Moss plays different roles — from the sexy lady in a pearly gray dress with a boyish fur collar and a boyfriend’s white shirt to being herself again, irresistible when wearing just a pair of Bottom-Up skinny jeans, the top-of-the-range denim style by the Capri-based company. Photographed by Mario Sorrenti, who made her a supermodel with his legendary photo shoot where she wore just a pair of jeans, Moss catches everybody’s eye as she plays hide and seek among the luxurious rooms of an old villa in Notting Hill, the neighborhood she loves most in London and the very special location of the new campaign.
Marco Marchi, owner and design director of Liu Jo, states: “In addition to her undeniable beauty, charisma and her natural presence, Kate Moss is an opinion leader, an undisputed style icon. We courted Kate for a very long time to have her as the face of our brand, because I think her image is very much in tune with our style. And I am really proud to have her, more mesmerizing than ever, as the face of our campaigns. Having such a planetary icon as Kate gives us extraordinary visibility: we are playing in the front row and we never want to stop growing.”
Liu Jo’s fall/winter collection boasts several lines including Dream Flower that is all about d’après nature; Cavalry De Luxe that focuses on the active woman; Smoking Attitude that calls for an elegant break devoted to tuxedos; and Shabby Chic, “a balance between bohemian and globetrotter trends.”
The jeans collection, meanwhile has two key themes, Dressed Up and Easy Going, that give life to a metropolitan, kaleidoscopic and vibrant look, built around the independent and daring woman.
Liu Jo mixes and matches prints with monotones and goes a little edgier by combining them with other patterns. One can see Moss in an animal-inspired fur coat worn over burgundy lacy lingerie. Notable styles are mini and midi skirts, layering, a diverse mix of coats, wide-cropped trousers and the ever dependable Liu Jo jeans.
